Five ways to time your Pirate Shop

1. Use the last-day trick
   Check how long the bundle you want most has left in the shop. Activate the day before it leaves: you grab it, then enjoy 13 more days of brand-new shops.
2. Center it on a big drop
   If a collaboration you care about is coming, activate a day or two before it lands so the whole release falls inside your window.
3. Respect the date on your token
   Players report different expiry dates, and some say the token must be used within 14 days of finding it. Whatever your token says is the limit; if it really is mid-December, starting by about December 1 keeps all 14 days inside it.
4. Spend it on things you'd actually buy
   Prioritize collab and limited items that rarely return. Common styles come back often, so they're poor reasons to start your clock.
5. Save the 2027 token for a big moment
   Players report the second token is valid until December 16, 2027, so there's no rush. A major collab or holiday event next year is a great target.

Should you wait for better skins?

A popular worry is that Epic will fill the shop with unpopular items while tokens are active. There's no evidence of that, and players point out it wouldn't make much sense: the 2027 token means Epic would have to keep the shop dull for a whole year. More realistically, the shop rotates as usual, and what you get depends on timing.

Waiting has a real cost too. Every day you hold the token, you risk forgetting or running out of time near the deadline. If something you love is in the shop right now and about to leave, that's usually reason enough to go.

How to see what's leaving the shop

• In-game: each Item Shop entry shows how long it has left. Items marked as leaving soon are your best candidates for the last-day trick.
• Shop history and leak trackers: fan sites track the daily shop and datamined upcoming cosmetics. Treat leaks as rumors until they appear in-game.

What about Winterfest?

Winterfest has historically run from mid to late December — which may fall after the 2026 activation deadline. If you're waiting for holiday skins, the 2027 token is the safer bet for next year's Winterfest.

Activating for your squad

When someone in your party finds the token, everyone gets their own Pirate Shop Access, so each player picks their own start date. Coordinating can be fun — compare wishlists and choose a fortnight together — but nobody has to activate when the finder does.
